Be ye holy for I am holy...
Godly and christian living should characterize the life of every christian believer.

" For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world"
Titus 2:11,12

What's christianity all about and why it's so important?
Let's start from the beginning...

Man's need of salvation:
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23

It all started with Adam and Eve's sin of disobedience in the garden of Eden. Their judgement was to be cast out to face work...pain...guilt... Sin became hereditary!!! "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." Psalm 51:5

Man could not save himself!!!
Our works: "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us." Titus 3:5

Our righteousness: "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags." Isaiah 64:6

Our goodness: "There is none good but one, that is god." Matthew 19:17

Our religion: "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight." Romans 3:20.
Only God saves!!!

A place prepared for you:

There was a man named Jesus Christ, who was God manifested in the flesh. He so impacted the world that the calendar dating system that we use today was changed to B.C. (before Christ) and A.D. (in the year of the Lord) to pivot around his life. Not only did he do the miraculous while walking the earth, but he allowed himself to be crucified for us. He loved his creation that much.

Jesus Christ made a special promise to all who followed him in this life. He said in...

John 14:2,3

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Repentance

"A made up mind." We must change our attitude and our mind and our actions about sin. (Inward changes show outwardly to others and ourselves we have decided to follow Jesus and obey his word.)

So then the first step to being born again is repenting and believing the gospel. The next step is being born again of water and of the spirit.

Acts 2:37

Now when they had heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Having a bit of trouble staying saved?

We all get to the stage where we seem to be straggling just a little bit and even sometimes a lot. Here is some friendly advice from Temple Connections.

Friends:

Choose your friends wisely. Always opt for your closest friends being Christians. The company that you keep will in time influence the way you speak and the way you act. Think about it. Do you have the best of friends?

Prayer, fasting and reading your bible:

A lot of the above and you can't go wrong.

Witnessing:

Tell people about Jesus. You'll find it helps build your faith.

Things that will mess with your christianity.

Here are some things Christian teens should definitely stay away from...if they want to remain Christian teens... Don't risk your salvation!!!

Drugs and alcohol:

Clubbing:
Encouraged for a night on the town. Say no! As a christian you need to keep separate from worldly things. Clubbing is definitely of the world.

Sex:

Now to the nitty gritty. Some of us seem to very convenietly forget what to say when asked. The mouth dries up, the palm gets sweaty and your christianity gets forgotten. Let us help you spell it out say: N O till you're both ready to commit to a christian marriage. Sex outside marriage is immoral and will get you into trouble with God and man. Plus it's a good way of contracting the several nasty sexually transmittable diseases out there. Then of course there is the unwanted pregnancies... Need I say more? It is one of the many sins listed in your bible. Look it up!

Education:

Ha, another lovely thought. Always avoid truancy. A good education is a blessing and is a mighty weapon for a child of God. After all you never heard of Jesus bunking history!
